Series of Saint Paul English Competition 2023

SPEC 2023 has come to the final round. The final round and awarding ceremony will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023. Upon that, all committee cooperatively are preparing for the event. What they are doing today is creating money bouquets for the winners. These bouquets are so special since they’re made from recycled and unused paper, i.e, newspapers, magazine, calendar, wrapping paper. “It’s the first time for me to make paper flowers. Making paper flowers like this is really fun” said Gisella, one of the committee members”.

The committee assemble 18 bouquets for 18 winners from 6 types of competition: Olympiad, Speech, Debate, Essay Writing, Story Telling, Poetry Out Loud. Money inserted in the bouquets varies from 750K to 300K. They use Styrofoam to hold the skewer and the bill. For wrapping the bouquet, they use calendar since it’s stronger than the newspaper. To make the bouquet more nice-looking, they apply some paper flowers. “We have been working on this project since Monday. After school, we gather at Language Lab and work for around 2 hours to arrange these bouquets” Yedi said. “All tools from home we employ, yet some of them don’t work,” laughed Fea. “By handling this project, we learn how to work with students from different division” Natalie added.

“I do hope that these bouquets will impress the winners. Commonly, the winners get the reward in the envelope. We just want make them special by putting the money in the bouquet. Beside the money, the winners will get trophy and goodie bag from EF” mam Lisa said. All materials are eco-friendly and easy to get. Let’s find out the winners’ response tomorrow.
